En el presente artículo, se expone y analiza la relación que se entabla entre los partidos políticos y sus grupos parlamentarios para determinar la influencia que ejercen los primeros sobre los segundos en la Cámara baja. Para tal cometido, se han tomado como estudios de caso los dos grandes partidos de México y España, es decir, el PRI y el PAN; el PP y el PSOE, respectivamente. Lo anterior no tiene otro fin que el de averiguar si la interdependencia y la interacción que parecen dominar en las relaciones son hechos aislados, propios de las democracias europeas, o si, por el contrario, son fenómeno extensibles al resto de las democracias. Asimismo, explorar hasta qué punto los parlamentos modernos están perdiendo relevancia a favor de los partidos políticos y qué papel desempeñan aquéllos en éstos. In the present article, an analysis of the relationship established by the political parties and their parliamentary groups is exposed to determine the influence of the first on the latter in the House of Representatives. Towards this goal, the two main parties of Mexico, PRI and PAN, have been taken as study cases as well as the two main Spanish parties PP and PSOE. The above has no other aim that to investigate if the inter dependency and interaction that seem to dominate in the relationships are isolated facts, common to European democracies, or, on the contrary, are extended phenomena to the rest of the democracies. Also, to explore to what extent are the modern parliaments losing their relevance, in favor of political parties and what role do they exert over these.
