%X The nationality is no longer the indispensable prerequisite to enjoy the rights associated with the citizenship. The intense transformation which the state-run institutions have undergone with the irresistible progression of the globalisation processes, as well as the considerable advance of the culture of human rights at the national and international level, rank among the decisive factors of important normative changes which affect the daily life of the immigrants. They often avail different types of membership within the receiving state which does not necessarily require the acquisition of the citizenship.
