Der Westbalkan im Fokus - zentrale Problemfelder und Herausforderungen im Vergleich

Abstract

Die vorliegende Studie versteht sich als ein Beitrag zum besseren vergleichenden Verständnis der aktuellen Entwicklungen am Westbalkan. Die Studie diskutiert die veränderten Rahmenbedingungen für die Stabilisierung und Demokratisierung der Staaten des Westbalkans, thematisiert die Schwäche der Demokratieentwicklung in der Region und hinterfragt zugleich kritisch die Rolle der EU als Role-Modell für die Gesellschaften am Westbalkan.

The following study is offering a comparative analysis of ongoing developments in the Western Balkans. The changing preconditions for stabilisation and democratization of the region as well as certain weaknesses of democracy in the countries of the Western Balkans are in the focus of the analysis. In parallel, the study offers a critical examination of EU's Role Model function in the Balkans.
