This research aimed to examine pre-university school boys' awareness of the factors in preventing, transmitting and treating HIV in Khuzestan province, Iran. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study. A sample size of 300 was determined using multistage random sampling method. The data were collected through a questionnaire, being analyzed with chi-square test. The research findings show that the students' awareness of HIV prevention and transmission is not desirable, the majority of the population's extent of information being below the expected mean while that of the disease treatment is more favorable.
