El presente artículo es un estudio de caso, de tantos que hoy vive Colombia que en donde, ante la llegada de la gran minería en su preocupante tránsito hacia una economía extractivista, las poblaciones se vienen organizando, movilizando y resistiendo para defender sus territorios, costumbres y producción agrícola, es el caso de ciudad Bolívar en Antioquia-Colombia en donde se ha realizado un Cabildo Abierto, como estrategia de defensa del territorio y es que de darse inicio a la explotación de cinco contratos mineros que allí se otorgaron y que involucran como titulares al actual alcalde de Medellín Anibal Gaviria y la empresa de su familia, afectaría una gran zona y podría verse en grave riesgo gran parte del territorio de los Farallones del Citará, territorio que fue declarado por la autoridad ambiental como una Área Protegida, y que además hace parte de un gran ecosistema estratégico: el Chocó biogeográfico.... view less

This article is a case study of many who now lives in Colombia where, before the arrival of large mining concern in its transition to an extractive economy, populations are organizing, mobilizing and resisting to defend their territories, customs and agricultural production, in the case of Ciudad Bolivar Antioquia-Colombia where there has been a town Meeting, as a strategy to defend the territory and be given to start the operation of five mining contracts were awarded and there involving as holders the current mayor of Medellin Anibal Gaviria and his family company, affect a large area and could be in serious jeopardy much of the territory of the Farallones de Citará, territory that was declared by the environmental authority as a protected Area, and also is part of a major strategic: ecosystem Chocó.... view less
