Der Beitrag diskutiert aus einer historisch-anthropologischen Perspektive einige fundamentale Bestimmungen des menschlichen Glücks: dass das Glücks als ein bzw. das Ziel menschlichen Lebens gelten muss, dass Menschen Bilder eines gelingenden Lebens brauchen, dass Glück nur in unterschiedlichen Vorstellungen existiert, dass wir es beim menschlichen Glück mit einem befristeten Phänomen zu tun haben und dass schließlich Glück immer Glück im Unglück ist. Am Ende des Beitrages sollen aus diesen Theorien einige praktische Schlussfolgerungen gezogen werden. Dabei soll vor allem deutlich werden, dass das Unglück konstitutiv ist für das Glück. In historical-anthropological perspective my article discusses some basic characteristics of human happiness: that happiness must count as one or the main goal of human life, that people need pictures of a successful life, that happiness exists only in a variety of ideas, that human happiness is just a temporary phenomenon and that happiness is always a blessing in disguise. At the end of this contribution I deduce some practical conclusions out of these theories. It should be particularly clear that misfortune is constitutive of happiness. In this respect, one should not only demand for pursuit of happiness, but also for pursuit of unhappiness.... view less
