Describes how the political system in the former USSR achieved its goal of disrupting the foundation, structure, & functioning of society, detailing the impact that political systems have on social behavioral patterns. Demographic behavior & the influence of political decisions on the degree of social response are described, & it is suggested that society retains a considerable degree of autonomy in spite of inconsistencies & fluctuations of political decision making. The role of statistical administration is examined, & several hypotheses that suggest an increasing gap between political behavior & individuals in society are presented.... view less
