%X Objective: to investigate the scientific productions on the working conditions of nursing staff in the emergency and urgent care sector. Method: integrative literature review including scientific articles indexed in the Virtual Health Library databases over the past five years (2010-2014). Results: Among the 87 articles identified, 13 were selected productions, whose approach has raised two categories: capacity and working conditions; Risks and accidents. Conclusion: the analyzed articles revealed inadequate working conditions to which nursing professionals are exposed daily in urgent and emergency services, which put them at risk of acquiring infectious diseases, exposure to physical and verbal violence, occupational stress, among others. In addition, it was found that the exhaustive hours and low pay are factors responsible for wear in the workplace.
