Objective: it is an integrative literature review, in order to verify the knowledge produced by researchers about the perception of older people on Alzheimer's disease (AD). Method: the literature review was conducted in the Virtual Health Library (BVS BRAZIL), MEDLINE and in the Capes Journal Portal databases. Results: the final sample consisted of nine scientific articles selected by previously established inclusion criteria.
