Abstract

The paper addresses the multiplatform app "WhatsApp Messenger" and their use of online instant messaging and voice calls to smartphones. In Distance Education, Federal University of Federal University of Tocantins (UFT), this application has been used as a communication mobility strategic mobile since the management of courses and programs offered in 16 classroom support poles are located Board headquarters of large distances Educational Technology (DTE) that manages the undergraduate courses in distance education through the System Open University of Brazil (UAB). The UFT through its Board of distance education has 5 undergraduate courses with an enrollment of 1,273 students divided into 52 classes.
