This article presents the results of an empirical research project in which participants in continuing education and employees were surveyed about their learning times. The survey indicated that (1) continuing education is cofinanced on a large scale through the devotion of private time. (2) Individuals show flexibility and commitment in creating their own learning and continuing education times. (3) Times can no longer be clearly assigned to "learning" and "working" even from a subjective point of view. (4) Frameworks and new forms of formalisation are viewed as helpful. (5) Learning is perceived as having a lower status when it is seen in terms of its economic results. This is a reflection of the fact that working and learning relate to different time categories. This makes it all the more important to develop time as a basic notice in the area of adult education.... view less

Der Beitrag stellt Ergebnisse eines empirischen Forschungsvorhabens dar, bei dem Weiterbildungsteilnehmende und Beschäftigte nach ihren Lernzeiten befragt wurden. Dabei zeigt sich: (1) Weiterbildung ist in großem Umfang aus privaten Zeitanteilen co-finanziert. (2) Die Individuen zeigen Flexibilität und Engagement in der Realisierung eigener Lern- und Weiterbildungszeiten. (3) Zuordnungen von Zeiten zu "Lernen" und "Arbeiten" sind selbst aus subjektiver Sicht nicht mehr eindeutig vorzunehmen. (4) Rahmungen und neue Formen der Formalisierung werden als hilfreich betrachtet. (5) Lernen wird als abgewertet empfunden, wenn es einer ökonomischen Resultatslogik unterzogen wird.
