Abstract

The publication presents a comprehensive number of key indicators regarding the internationalism of German third level education institutes and the German academic system. It focuses on the international mobility of third level students and academics and the attractiveness of Germany as a study and research location in international comparison. The volume offers detailed information and various visualisations of core trends in academic mobility. For the first time, this year the publication also presents data on transnational education offerings and the final destinations of foreign students in Germany. The focus topic "USA and Germany: academic exchange and student mobility" (USA und Deutschland: Akademischer Austausch und studentische Mobilität) examines bilateral and unilateral exchange relations between the two academic systems from various perspectives. All texts in this volume are available in German and English.

Die Publikation präsentiert umfangreiche Kennzahlen zur Internationalität der deutschen Hochschulen und des deutschen Wissenschaftssystems. Im Mittelpunkt stehen internationale Mobilität von Studierenden und Wissenschaftlern und die Attraktivität Deutschlands als Studien- und Forschungsstandort im internationalen Vergleich. Der Band informiert detailliert und mit zahlreichen Grafiken über zentrale Trends der akademischen Mobilität. Zum ersten Mal präsentiert die Publikation in diesem Jahr auch Daten zu transnationalen Bildungsangeboten und zum Verbleib ausländischer Studierender in Deutschland. Das Schwerpunktthema "USA und Deutschland: Akademischer Austausch und studentische Mobilität" beleuchtet Wechsel- und Austauschbeziehungen zwischen den Wissenschaftssystemen aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln. Alle Texte des Bandes sind in deutscher und englischer Sprache verfasst.
