Worin die Ehe besteht: eine Rekonstruktion der staatlichen Anrufung von Liebespaaren auf dem Standesamt

Abstract

"In der Situation der standesamtlichen Zeremonie wird derzeit nicht über die Institution Ehe und deren Rechtswirkungen gesprochen. Vielmehr betonen die Staatsangestellten, welche die Zeremonien leiten, die emotionale Dimension dieses besonderen Moments für das individuelle Liebespaar. Am Beispiel von zwei Partnerschaftseintragungen und zwei Eheschließungen rekonstruiert der Beitrag diese staatliche Inszenierung von Liebe. Gezeigt wird, dass es in den kurzen, aber bewegenden Momenten um die Herstellung einer dauerhaften emotionalen Bindung geht. Denn wie die staatlichen ExpertInnen verdeutlichen, bestehen die Ehe und die eingetragene Partnerschaft darin, dass sich staatlich legitimierte Liebespaare an einem in der Zukunft liegenden Glück orientieren." "Marriage as an institution and its legal effects are currently not discussed in the course of registry office ceremonies. Rather, the officials who conduct these ceremonies tend to emphasize the emotional dimension of this special moment for each individual couple. This article reconstructs the state's enactment of love based on the example of two civil partnership and two marriage ceremonies. It shows that, in the brief but moving moments, what is happening is the creation of an enduring emotional tie. As the officials show, marriage and civil partnerships are constituted when couples who have been legitimized by the state orientate their relationship to their happiness in the future."
