Mexico’s federal elections in 2012, and in particular the presidential, resulted in an intense, but dispersed, debate over the role of polls in electoral processes and their regulation. Therefore retrieve the regulatory framework and the narrative of the published polls do not act only as a function of archeology in Foucault’s sense, but it opens the possibility of a revision to the criticism expressed, in order to establish scope and limitations of these exercises.
