In den letzten Jahrzehnten sind verschiedene Ansätze entwickelt worden, kulturelle Vielfalt, bzw. allgemeiner: "diversity", für organisationale Prozesse fruchtbar zu machen. Der Mehrwert, der mit einer Berücksichtigung kultureller Vielfalt verbunden ist, steht inzwischen weitgehend außer Frage. Dennoch gelingt es in der Praxis bislang erst ansatzweise, über ein strukturorientiertes Diversity Management hinaus Vielfalt auch im Sinne eines Miteinander der Beteiligten zu realisieren. Over the last decades, a number of methods for "dealing with" or even "managing" diversity have been presented and revised. To be sure, these developments parallel the evolution of the globalization processes in the last third of the last century. The establishment of parallel developments between the phases of globalization and the paradigm change within diversity management concepts (in a Western European context for the most part) will form the core of this text. It will conclude with an argument for a dialogic form of intercultural (instead of multicultural) diversity management which itself drives a certain mode of diversity: "Be yourself, but let's collaborate". It is an active, cooperative form of diversity that encourages cohesive networking. In this way the handling of diversity has shifted from structure-oriented containment to process-oriented engagement.... view less
