Das 'feminisierte' Studium der Erziehungs- und Bildungswissenschaften und die studentische (De-)Thematisierung von Geschlecht und Geschlechterfragen

Abstract

"In diesem Beitrag steht der hohe Frauenanteil im Studium der Erziehungs- und Bildungswissenschaften im Zentrum der Aufmerksamkeit. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden im Folgenden zwei Aspekte kritisch thematisiert: Erstens wird die Frage diskutiert, ob (nur) aufgrund der hohen zahlenmäßigen Repräsentanz von Frauen von einem feminisierten Studiengang der Erziehungs- und Bildungswissenschaften gesprochen werden kann. Dabei wird die Verknüpfung zwischen der Überrepräsentanz von Frauen (als statistische Beschreibung) und der Feminisierungsthese problematisiert. Zweitens wird darüber hinaus gefragt, wie Studierende der Erziehungs- und Bildungswissenschaften Geschlecht und Geschlechterfragen thematisieren und welche Implikationen die (statistische) Repräsentation von Frauen und Männern im Studium hat. Die Diskussion dieser Fragen ist auf einer theoretischen und einer empirischen Ebene angesiedelt. Die empirischen Befunde zeigen, dass die Wahrnehmung des Studiums durch die Studierenden als numerisch und kulturell feminisiertes Studium die Art und Weise der Thematisierung von Geschlecht und Geschlechterfragen maßgeblich beeinflusst." "The article focuses, firstly, on the implications of the unequal statistical representation of women and men in educational studies and, secondly, what role this can play in regard to the relevance of gender. The findings, which are based on four group discussions with students of educational studies, reveal that the number of female students influences the way in which students discuss gender topics and gender-related issues. The article also shows that the perception of educational studies as a feminized degree course is closely linked to the rejection of the gender-based German language and the notion of gender justice and equality. Not only the representation of women within educational studies has an impact on the thematization of gender (issues), but the topic of sex and gender itself, due to its complexity, also makes it difficult to discuss the issue."
