"Western societies are determined by neo-liberalization and punitiveness, even though both developments run by no means uniform and without contradictions. The common principle and the exposure of the source of the desire for repression shifted the perspective. Moving past the mere impact of punitive policies, embedding crime control into social, economic and cultural conditions. This article deals with the homologies in the field of crime control, the structural changes of society and its subsystems of the economy, politics, culture and the social. According to the thesis pursued, the political-economic structural changes of Western societies since the 1980s, promoted the desire for repression and altered crime control."
