Abstract

"Im Zuge der Globalisierung und der sich in diesem Zusammenhang verstärkenden Sehnsucht nach dem Lokalen gelangen die Konstruktionen von Heimat und regionaler Identität verstärkt in den Fokus wissenschaftlichen Interesses. Während für den Terminus der regionalen Identität fachstrategisch geschickt die Räumlichkeit von Identitätsbildungen konstitutiv ist, entstammt das Wort 'Heimat' einem lebensweltlichen Kontext und bezieht sich stärker auf soziale Bindungen. Da beide Konzepte die Exklusion des Fremden implizieren, sind sie vor dem Kontext globaler Migration und kultureller Hybridisierung nicht unreflektiert positiv zu werten." (Autorenreferat)

"With regard to globalization and the closely related longing for locality, the construction of nativeness and regional identity is more and more under scientific scrutiny. While the term regional identity originates from concepts of space and identity, the word native stems from a life-world context and refers more to social bonds. Since both concepts imply the exclusion of strangers, they should not be interpreted entirely positively against the background of global migration and cultural hybridization." (autor's abstract)
