"Ever since the introduction of case rates (G-DRG - German-Diagnosis Related Groups) the hospital market has been in a process of change. The question arose as to whether services provided by the hospital should not rather be referred over to the market (Make or Bay). Outsourcing of IuK technologies are being discussed here as a strategic option. Contrary to the industry-wide trend of focusing and/or concentrating on core componants, the aim of the health service is the integration of medical and nursing services (§ 140 a-d SGB V). Virtual enterprises and portal clinics as forms of co-operation are creating seminal solutions for hospitals today. An essential prerequisite for the implimentation of these new types of provision is a comprehensive digitalisation of the business and provision processes. This development will shift gradually from traditional outsourcing to the targeted outsourcing for the purpose of implimenting IuK strategies in the health service." (author's abstract)... view less
