Räumliche Aspekte der Innovationsförderung - Hintergründe, Perspektiven und Kritik

Abstract

"Die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit deutscher Wirtschaftsräume wird vor dem Hintergrund der Globalisierung mehr und mehr von der Innovationsfähigkeit der ansässigen Unternehmen bestimmt. Nicht von ungefähr verkörpert die Förderung von Innovationsaktivitäten daher einen wesentlichen Bestandteil des politischen Handelns. Das Förderinstrumentarium ist dabei entweder implizit oder explizit, z.B. wenn bestimmte Regionen im Förderfokus stehen, mit räumlichen Schwerpunkten verbunden. Der vorliegende Beitrag diskutiert kritisch, inwiefern die 'Region' im Rahmen der Innovationspolitik eine geeignete Handlungsebene darstellt und zeigt auf, welche Zielkonflikte aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Ausrichtung der Förderansätze bestehen." "On the background of globalisation, the competitiveness and dynamism of German economic spaces depend more and more on the presence of innovative firms. Therefore it is hardly surprising that fostering innovation activities has become one of the main topics on the political agenda. In most cases innovation policy is, implicitly or explicitly, associated with spatial impacts and focal points. This article critically discusses to what extent the 'region' is an appropriate space of action concerning innovation policy and demonstrates the conflicting goals resulting from the different angles policies are made from."
