Biografie und Politik: wissenschaftliche Selbstverständnisse und empirische Begegnungen: einleitende Überlegungen zum Schwerpunktthema

Abstract

El potencial del uso de las teorías sociales del conocimiento y teorías basadas en perspectivas biográficas y de la interacción no ha recibido mucha atención en el análisis de fenómenos históricos y políticos actuales. Este artículo introduce al tema "Biografía y Política", que es resultado de un taller celebrado en Berlín en 2009. Incluye la discusión de la acción política como acción biográficamente contextualizada: ¿En qué contextos sociales y biográficos tiene lugar la acción política?, ¿En qué medida las actividades políticas representan formas de enfrentar experiencias biográficas específicas? ¿Qué consecuencias tienen acciones políticas concretas en la evolución biográfica y de la sociedad? Basado en trabajo empírico reciente, este volumen contribuye a la discusión de la conceptualización de la relación entre acción política y biografía desde la perspectiva de teorías biográficas. Además, se delinean las características específicas de este campo de investigación. Desde varias disciplinas, los artículos se refieren a proyectos de investigación empírica, que hacen uso de diversos recursos con diferentes consideraciones conceptuales y enfoques metodológicos. Permiten un análisis de los logros y límites de los análisis basados en los enfoques teórico-biográficos, así como de la relación entre la política y biografías.

In the analysis of historical and current political phenomena, the potential for the use of social theories of knowledge and theories based on interactional and biographical perspectives have not received much attention. This article introduces the topic "Biography and Politics" which was the result of a workshop held in Berlin in 2009. It includes the discussion of political action as biographically contextualized action: Within which societal and biographical contexts does political action take place? To what extent do political activities represent forms of coping with specific biographical experiences? What consequences do concrete political actions have for further biographical and societal developments? Based on recent empirical work, this issue contributes to the discussion of the conceptualization of the relationship between political action and biography based on the perspective of biographical theories. In addition, specific features of this field of research will be delineated. The articles from various disciplines concern empirical research projects, making use of various resources with different conceptual considerations and methodological approaches. They permit a discussion of the achievements and limits of analyses based on biographical-theoretical approaches as well as the relationship between politics and biographies.

In der Analyse zeithistorischer und gegenwärtiger politischer Phänomene werden Potenziale einer wissenssoziologisch und interaktionstheoretisch fundierten biografietheoretischen Perspektive wenig wahrgenommen. Der folgende Beitrag leitet ein in die Schwerpunktausgabe "Biografie und Politik", die aus einem Workshop 2009 in Berlin hervorgegangen ist. Diskutiert wird politisches als stets biografisch kontextualisiertes Handeln: In welchen gesellschaftlich-biografischen Kontexten findet politisches Handeln statt? Inwieweit stellen politische Aktivitäten biografische Verarbeitungsformen spezifischer Erfahrungen dar? Welche Folgen haben konkrete politische Handlungen wiederum für weitere biografische und gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen? Die Ausgabe will dazu beitragen, auf der Basis neuerer empirischer Arbeiten konzeptionell das Verhältnis von politischem Handeln und Biografie aus biografietheoretischer Perspektive zu diskutieren und Spezifika des Forschungsfeldes zu konturieren. Die Aufsätze aus unterschiedlichen Disziplinen befassen sich anhand von konkreten empirischen Forschungsprojekten und in der Auswertung unterschiedlicher Quellen mit verschiedenen konzeptionellen Überlegungen und methodische Herangehensweisen. Sie ermöglichen, Leistungen und Grenzen biografieanalytischer Ansätze und Spezifika des Verhältnisses von Politik und Biografie zu diskutieren.
