Soziale Kontrolle ohne Kontrolleure? Veränderungstendenzen der Formen und des Konzepts sozialer Kontrolle

Abstract

'Nachdem das Konzept der sozialen Kontrolle lange Zeit im Rahmen der Soziologie abweichenden Verhaltens eine wichtige Rolle gespielt hat, erlangt es in Zusammenhang mit der Diskussion gesellschaftlicher Individualisierungsprozesse neue Aktualität für allgemeine soziologische Theorien. Nach einer kurzen Darstellung der 'Karriere' des Konzeptes der sozialen Kontrolle untersuchen wir den postulierten Formenwandel sozialer Kontrollmodi im Zuge der Individualisierungsprozesse und die Frage, ob sich durch einen etwaigen Trend von Fremd- zur Selbstkontrolle Kontrollinstanzen immer mehr verflüchtigen und Prozesse sozialer Kontrolle neue Gestalt annehmen. Verschiedene Varianten der Individualisierungstheorie werden unter diesem Gesichtspunkt verglichen und die Frage nach den sich daraus ergebenden Trends sozialer Kontrolle gestellt.' (Autorenreferat)

'While the concept social control has played a major role within the sociology of deviant behavior it has won new actuality in the field of sociological theory building in connection with discussons about societal processes of individualization. After a short reconstruction of the 'career' of the concept of social control we analyze the postulated change of modi of control elicited by these processes of individualization and discuss the question whether the postulated trend from outer control to self-control is acompanied by a process that makes agencies of social control more and more elusive and leads to new forms of social control. We compare several variants of individualization theory with regard to those aspects and develop some ideas about future trends in the development of social control.' (author's abstract)|
