Abstract

'Dieses Working Paper, dem ein Vortrag am Institut für Höhere Studien vorausging, handelt vom Wirken eines 'großen Europäers': Jacques Delors. Mit seinem Namen verbinden sich Meilensteine der europäischen Integration: Europäischer Binnenmarkt, Wirtschafts- und Währungsunion, um nur zwei zu nennen. Der Autor stellt in diesem Paper diese Projekte in einen größeren Zusammenhang. Er berichtet zwar auch über biographische Details und über wirtschaftspolitische Hintergründe und Kontextbedingungen der Politik der Delors-Kommission, aber vergegenwärtigt zugleich auf sehr eindringliche Weise die Visionen von Jacques Delors und was aus ihnen wurde.' 'This working paper, which is based on a lecture at the Institute of Advanced Studies, focuses on the work of a great European: Jacques Delors. His name is connected to milestones of the European integration process: the internal market und the Economic and Monetary Union to just name two. Within this paper the author places these projects into a larger context. Although he focuses on biographical details and on the economic-political background of the politics of the 'Delors-Commission', he describes in a very convincing manner the visions of Jacques Delors and what became of them.'
