Identitäten in der Psychologie - Jenseits der Imitationsidentität

Abstract

Das Projekt Psychologie ist in einem Zustand unübersichtlicher Beliebigkeit, den auch die einheitswissenschaftliche Fiktion der vorherrschenden akademischen Psychologie nicht aufheben kann. Alle Versuche, der Psychologie ein einheitliches Identitätskorsett anzudienen oder aufzuherrschen, werden diesen Zustand nicht entscheidend verändern können. Die Psychologie muß einen "Identitätsstatus" überwinden, der als "übernommene Identität" oder "Imitationsidentität" bezeichnet werden kann. Sie benötigt vielmehr eine "erarbeitete Identität", die an ihren gesellschaftsgeschichtlichen Ursprung zurückführt: Psychologie als eine Disziplin, die an den Chancen und Notwendigkeiten eines sich selbst reflektierenden Subjekts ansetzt und dadurch zu einem Mehr an Mündigkeit beiträgt.

Presents thoughts on the identity of psychology. It is maintained that the current state of psychology is incoherent and arbitrary, and that the fiction of a monolithic discipline, as propagated by established academic psychology, cannot alleviate this situation. All attempts to impose a cohesive identity on psychology would not change this situation decisively. Psychology needs to overcome what is described as a state of assumed or imitative identity. It needs to work out its own identity, returning to its own societal and historical roots. There, psychology is understood as a discipline that begins with the capabilities and the necessities of a self-reflecting subject and thus contributes to emancipation.
