'The general hypothesis is that social differentiation causes spatial differentiation. Starting with this hypothesis, the residential areas of respondents in the Social Science Bus 2/1995 have been classified with respect to characteristics describing type of city and type of residential area. The goal of this strategy was to find out if a special type of person lives in specific residential areas or even dominates them. Therefore respondents from different types of residential areas were compared with respect to their socio-economic status and their socio-demographic characteristics.'
