abstract = {'Der Altenheimsurvey (AHS) ist eine Repräsentativerherbung unter Altenheimbewohnern. (Autorenreferat)'The survey of homes for the aged is a representative survey among the population in homes for the aged. In particular, it collects the life history and the reasons why respondents move to these homes. In addition, the survey fills an important gap in the stock of data files for empirical social research. General social surveys such as the ALLBUS, the Socioeconomic Panel, the German Family Survey refer exclusively to the population in private households. In the survey of homes for the aged questions usually collected in general surveys for private households are gathered in a comparable manner for the people living in homes for the aged.'
