Was heißt hier "Sprechen"? Lässt sich Bourdieus "Ökonomie des sprachlichen Tausches" für eine Theorie kommunikativer Verständigung nutzen?

Abstract

Im ersten Teil des Artikels soll die Bourdieu'sche Sprechsoziologie, eine Theorie, die beansprucht, die sprachlichen Interaktionsprozesse aufzuhellen, dargestellt werden. Im zweiten und dritten Teill wird dann gezeigt, dass Bourdieus Soziologie des Sprechens sich kaum mit einer Theorie kommunikativer Verständigung 'verträgt' und dass Bourdieu mit seinem Konzept kaum in der Lage ist, die alltäglich zu beobachtenden Verständigungsprozesse zu beschreiben. Dennoch - so die hier vertretene These im vierten Teil: die Überlegungen Bourdieus regen durchaus dazu an, eine Theorie kommunikativer Verständigung um die kommunikationssoziologische Dimension zu erweitern - um eine Dimension, die ihr Augenmerk auf die Bedeutung des sozialen Gewichts der Kommunikanten für den Verständigungsprozess richtet.

Subsequent to a compact description of Bourdieu's sociology of speaking, firstly the communication-theoretical deficiency of the 'economy of linguistic exchanges' is pointed out. Secondly, with reference to the social-structural aspect of communication emphasized by Bourdieu, attention is drawn to the fact that communicative understanding unavoidably depends on its social-structural frame: subjects not only define themselves but also find to a communicative understanding out of their given positions within a special social field. Thus, Bourdieu refers - without intention - to the social conditions of communicative understanding, and indicates the thematical crux of the pragmatics of communication - and its sociological aspects - which, until now, have mostly gone unnoticed by the theory of communicative understanding.
