A edição dos lugares: sobre fotografias e a política espacial das imagens

Abstract

Este artigo tem por intuito discutir como as imagens contemporâneas criam pensamentos e ações sobre os lugares, coisas e pessoas, o que resolvemos chamar de política espacial das imagens. Estamos lidando com o argumento de que um dos meios para que isso aconteça, está no processo de "edição" dos lugares, a exemplo dos estudos feitos pelo historiador Simon Schama (1996), sobre como as fotografias e pinturas feitas sobre o Parque Nacional Yosemite, nos EUA, nos apresentam o lugar a partir de uma dada intencionalidade, a saber, a de não permitir que os vestígios ali deixados pelas pessoas que iam lá visitá-lo aparecessem, como os lixos jogados pelo chão e que serviam, muitas vezes, de alimento para os ursos. O caráter da edição nos coloca, portanto, em contato com os traços da cultura e do pensamento espacial existente, no momento da produção daquelas imagens. Esse será o centro da discussão deste artigo, composto pelos temas da fotografia, do lugar e da experiência, conjunto imbricado que nos permite entender e, ao mesmo tempo, produzir práticas e pensamentos mais próximos daquilo que a geógrafa inglesa, Doreen Massey (2008) chamou de "multiplicidade" - de que são feitos os lugares.

This article has for intention to discuss how the contemporary images create thoughts and actions about the places, things and people, that we decided call of space politics of the images. We are working with the argument that one of the means for that to happen, it is in the process of edition of the places, for example, the studies made by the historian Simon Schama (1996), about how the pictures and paintings shooting on the National Park Yosemite, in the USA, they present us that place starting from a given intentionality: beginning for not showing to us, the tracks there left by the people that will visit it there appeared, as the garbages leave in the ground and that they served, oftentimes, of food for the bears. The character of the edition puts us in contact with the culture and of the existent space thought, in the moment of the production of those images. That will be the center of the discussion of this article, composed by the themes of the picture, place and experience, a imbricate group that allows to understand each other and, at the same time, to produce practices and closer thoughts as the one English Geographer, Doreen Massey (2008) called "multiplicity" - that are form it the places.
