(Autorenreferat)... view less

"The research project 'Cash Car: Der Bedeutungswandel des Privat-Automobils zum Kernmodul eines integrierten Verkehrsdienstleisters' realises a widespread fieldwork experiment, proving the acceptance of the cash car-service on the one hand and analysing driver's daily behaviour in traffic on the other. Cash car is based upon a full service leasing contract, turning the leased car into a financial asset, yet whenever it is not needed, allowing it to be put at the disposal of the car sharing fleet for a bonus. Only one year after its beginning it is clear that cash car works and is being accepted by the costumers and the general public. In this discussion paper, the first results, generated from user data and panel interviews, will be presented. Hypotheses which will be drawn from these interviews, include current cash car users, former users and interested persons and profiles of use dealing with the new mobility service up til to now will be produced. Lastly, some preliminary conclusions will be drawn in an attempt to develop the cash car service further." (author's abstract)... view less
