%X Highlights: - Teachers can detect child sexual abuse (CSA) due to their close relationship with children, but often lack confidence to act in suspected cases. - CSA specific self-efficacy scale is necessary to measure teachers' capability to act. - A CSA specific self-efficacy scale with emotional-based self-efficacy, knowledge-based self-efficacy and competence-based self-efficacy subscales was built. - A confirmatory factor analysis showed high factor loadings for a two-factor model: knowledge and competence-based self-efficacy. - A reliable and valid CSA-specific self-efficacy scale was developed, with potential for further studies.
