%X The "Suburban Mobility Transition" series of articles deals with possible development options in suburban areas near metropolises. This article deals with the development of the municipality of Lebanon in New Jersey near the metropolis of New York. It aims to highlight the options on the Raritan Valley Line, which has to contend with the basic conditions of public transport in the United States of America and the circumstances of the suburban area. The aim is to demonstrate connection options that would enable people to use more climate-friendly mobility. To do this, a public transport inventory will first be carried out and possible infrastructure development options will be presented, which will be compared and evaluated using various transport planning indicators. The aim of this article is to critically examine the various ways in which the quality of connections and the handling of journeys to and from the suburbs could be sustainably improved with each potential expansion option, which could also indirectly represent a climate-effective measure against congestion and air pollution.
