dc.description.abstract | The present work raises two broad and closely related questions. What do we mean by international human rights law? How should researchers study international human rights law? One question concerns the subject, the second - the object. Russia is important in this context due to the fact that the foundations of international law on the protection of human rights - the "place of memory" in this area, were laid in the context of US-Soviet relations through the application of the provisions of the Helsinki Final Act1 on Human Rights.
