Purposе: To present the chronology and features of the social initiative for road traffic safety "YampilM-06", which was launched to save people on the most dangerous section of the highway M-06 Kyiv-Chop in the Lviv region, within the settlement of the village of Yampil. Method: analysis and synthesis. Findings: According to the results of the social initiative, it was possible to raise the relevance of the researched topic to a level that ensured the necessary reaction of the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Lviv Regional State Administration and the Highway Service in the Lviv Region. Originality: Thecurrent state of affairswith an abnormally high number of traffic accidents is not irreversible. Provided the relevant public opinion is formed about the importance and possibility of influencing the situation, the totality of informational efforts leads to the expected reactions on the part of responsible persons and contributes to the establishment of a positive trend to minimize the impact of negative and dangerous factors. Limitations of the research: Further searches for the correlation between the probable factors and the number of accidents on the section of the highway studied are possible with the further involvement of additional data based on the results of official inquiries.
