dc.description.abstract | The subject of the article is an attempt to identify the role of local government (as a public institution) in economic activity. In local government, it is the performance of own tasks (mainly by providing services) in order to meet social needs, as well as taking various actions to shape the conditions for local development and entrepreneurship. This is the dual role of local government as a service provider and development creator. The study is analytical and descriptive based on a review and interpretation of the literature on the subject and observations of practice. The thesis adopted in the considerations is the claim that local government in all its activities is guided by economic thinking and a separate logic of functioning in economic activity (entrepreneurship). For structural and functional reasons, local government has characteristics typical of an entrepreneurial entity. | de |
