"Die Bedeutung schulischen Vandalismus wird im Rahmen dieses Beitrags als Ausdruck informeller Lern-/Bildungsprozesse und somit jenseits kriminalistischer oder genuin politischer Lesarten fokussiert. Die Analysen kontrastierender Graffiti verdeutlichen, dass jugendliche Schüler*innen den sie umgebenden und sie beeinflussenden - somit wirkmächtigen - Raum ihrerseits interaktionsräumlich modifizieren und in Besitz nehmen. Die jugendkulturellen Artefakte, die dabei entstehen, lassen sich als Ausdruck lebenspraktischer Autonomie interpretieren. Strukturell handelt es sich bei diesen 'Raumspuren' um Inbesitznahmen, die innerhalb und außerhalb der formalen Bildungsinstitution Schule ihren Platz finden und die zugrunde liegende Schulkultur und -struktur reflexiv aufgreifen und kommentieren. Im Ergebnis finden wir schüler*innenkulturelle Adaptionen jugendkultureller Artefakte und Ausdrucksformen." (Autorenreferat)... view less

"In this article, the meaning of school vandalism is understood as an expression of informal processes of education and learning rather than as political statement or as criminal act. The analysis of contrasting graffiti shows: School spaces are modified and occupied by students and - vice versa - students are affected by school spaces as well. From a structural perspective these 'left traces' such as graffiti and doodles - found within formal education institutions - can be described as an expression of autonomy. Youth cultural artifacts and forms of expression are results of a critical commenting on schools' culture and their inner structure. As a result we find student cultural adaptions of youth cultural artifacts and their forms of expression." (author's abstract)... view less
