(Textauszug)... view less

'The paradigm of the 'virtual economy' put forward by Clifford Gaddy and Barry Ickes promises to be a major contribution to a theory of the transition economy, integrating phenomena such as value subtraction, barter, and payment arrears into a coherent framework of the post-Soviet economy. In the present study, several quantitative aspects of the proposed model (hereinafter called the 'standard model') are analysed in an input-output setting, some of the results achieved differing from those of the original model. Also, the present report proposes an extension to the barter economy model.' (extract)... view less
