Klimaverträglicher touristischer Verkehr und die Rolle der Raumordnung

Abstract

"In den Tourismusdestinationen Deutschlands erfolgt die An- und Abreise der Urlaubsgäste vor allem mit dem privaten Pkw. Auch vor Ort ist das Auto wichtig für die Mobilität. Dies führt zu erheblichen verkehrsbedingten Umweltbelastungen mit den entsprechenden negativen Auswirkungen auf das Klima. Um diesem Trend entgegenzuwirken, bedarf es aus raumordnerischer Sicht auf allen Planungsebenen einer frühzeitigen Einbindung von Strategien und Maßnahmen, die eine klimaverträgliche Abwicklung des touristischen Verkehrs berücksichtigen. Insbesondere informelle Planungsinstrumente wie das Regionalmanagement bieten dabei aufgrund des lokalen Bezugs und seiner Umsetzungsorientierung gute Möglichkeiten, ein klimaverträgliches Mobilitätsverhalten der Urlaubsgäste zu fördern bzw. zu unterstützen." "The access and return travel of holidaymakers to the tourist destinations as well as the mobility at the holiday destination itself is mostly carried out by private car. This leads to significant environmental impacts with the corresponding negative effects on the climate. In order to work against this trend, an early integration of strategies and policies on the different planning levels, which take into account a climate-friendly handling of the tourist-related traffic, is crucial from the perspective of spatial planning. In particular, informal planning instruments like regional management offer good possibilities to support a climate-friendly mobility of holidaymakers because of its local operating context and project orientation."
