(Autorenreferat)... view less

'The Revolution of 1989 made a unified German national state in Europe possible. Up to the present day, the West has not accepted this, nor has the East been able to take it. In the East, the revisionist language of post-communists dominates, and in the West, there is a language of political correctness which developed in the course of an 'Auschwitz identity' and of the 'self-acknowledgement' of the Western partial state. In academic areas too, GDR topics have lost in importance. Often, the dictatorial character of the GDR is denied. It goes similarly for the Federal German system of justice, which does not know the political aspects of the Revolution, or even declares them as infringing the constitutional state. In our political culture, there are hardly any traces of the fundament on which the unified Republic rests, the Revolution of 1989.' (author's abstract)|... view less
