Right-wing media have a fairly strong presence in Austria and have so far hardly been studied from a media ethics perspective. This article analyses 34 publications or rulings by the Austrian Press Council against six periodicals that belong(ed) to the extreme right. The rulings of the Press Council are evaluated through structuring content analysis according to Mayring, with the "Code of Ethics for the Austrian Press" as the coding system. The study shows which principles are regularly violated by the media investigated (especially the requirement of accuracy, prohibition of discrimination). The research results are intended as a contribution to illustrate the priority themes and recurring mechanisms in far right journalism.... view less
