Zwischen Fürsorge und Disziplinierung: Handlungsorientierungen in Kinderheimen in der DDR aus professionstheoretischer Perspektive

Abstract

Der Beitrag steht im Zusammenhang der Erforschung von Bedingungen und Folgen der Unterbringung in Kinderheimen und Jugendwerkhöfen der DDR; sein Thema sind Handlungsorientierungen in der professionellen Praxis aus Perspektive ehemaliger Mitarbeitender. Über den Zugang der Oral History werden Wahrnehmungsmuster professioneller Handlungsorientierungen und daraus resultierende Spannungsfelder untersucht. Quellenbasis sind leitfadengestützte Interviews mit Mediziner*innen, Psycholog*innen und Pädagog*innen aus dem Untersuchungsfeld. Es wird deutlich, dass manche Interviewsequenzen fürsorgliche, andere wiederum repressive Aspekte enthalten. Im untersuchten Feld standen therapeutische und ordnungsorientierte Handlungsorientierungen in einem Spannungsverhältnis. In den betrachteten Einrichtungen waren - so die abschließende These - sowohl Grenzen der Handlungsorientierung als auch professionelle Grenzen verwischt.

This article is related to research on the conditions and consequences of placement in children's homes and youth work centres in the GDR; its topic is action orientations in professional practice from the perspective of former staff members. Using the approach of oral history, patterns of perception of professional action orientations and the resulting areas of tension are examined. The sources are guideline-based interviews with doctors, psychologists and educators from the field of study. It becomes clear that some interview sequences contain caring, others repressive aspects. In the field studied, communicative and instrumental orientations of action were in tension with each other. According to the concluding thesis, the boundaries of both action orientation and professional boundaries were blurred in the institutions examined.
