Studying the Planning Process of the Marketplace of Hamburg‑Sasel as an Assemblage

Abstract

This article examines how the planning process of a market area in Hamburg-Sasel emerges as an assemblage. First, assemblage theory is used to analyze the planning process itself. To this end, related components such as diverging interests, conflicts and authorities as well as discourses are considered regarding their impact on the planning process. Second, assemblage theory is considered in terms of its value for urban anthropology.

Diese Arbeit untersucht einen Planungsprozess auf einem Marktplatz in Hamburg Sasel als Assemblage. Zunächst wird mittels der Assemblage Theory der Planungsprozess selbst analysiert. Dafür werden relationale Komponenten wie zum Beispiel unterschiedliche Interessen, Konflikte, Behörden und Diskurse im Hinblick auf ihren Einfluss auf den Planungsprozess betrachtet. In einem zweiten Schritt wird die Assemblage Theory nach ihrem Wert für die kulturanthropologische Stadtforschung befragt.
