Davon ausgehend, dass der digitale Wandel folgenreich für Subjekte und ihre Lebenswelten ist, untersucht der Beitrag aus einer intersektionalen und biografieanalytischen Perspektive die biografische Bedeutung von Selbstpräsentationen in sozialen Medien für den Widerstand gegen erfahrenen Sexismus und Rassismus. Soziale Medien werden dabei als Kontext der (Re-)Produktion und Irritation von Macht- und Ungleichheitsverhältnissen betrachtet. Entlang der Biografien junger Frauen of Color und ihrer Instagram-Posts wird am Beispiel zweier Fallstudien empirisch gezeigt, wie die digitalen Selbstpräsentationen in Biografien eingeflochten sind und welche Möglichkeiten für Selbstkonstruktionen und Widerstand, aber auch, welche Risiken und Begrenzungen mit ihnen verbunden sind.... view less

Proceeding on the assumption that the digital transformation has crucial consequences for subjects and their lifeworlds, the article examines, from an intersectional and biographical perspective, the significance of self-presentations in social media when it comes to resistance against sexism and racism. Social media are seen as the context in which power relations and inequalities are (re)produced and disrupted. Based on two case studies, the biographies of young women of colour and their Instagram posts are used to show how digital self-presentations are woven into biographies and what possibilities for self-construction and resistance, as well as what risks and limitations are associated with them.... view less
