Medienplattformen kommt eine wachsende Bedeutung bei der Distribution von Inhalten zu. Bisher liegen jedoch kaum Studien vor, die die Eigenschaften von Plattformen unterschiedlicher Sektoren der Medienbranche (Bewegtbild, Musik, Journalismus usw.) miteinander vergleichen. Die vorliegende Studie untersucht sieben auf dem deutschen Markt aktive Journalismusplattformen anhand unterschiedlicher Dimensionen und setzt sie in Relation zu Netflix und Spotify. Dafür wurde eine qualitative Analyse der Angebote vorgenommen, um zu überprüfen, inwiefern Spotify und Netflix eine Referenzfunktion für Journalismusplattformen haben. Die Studie kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass Netflix und Spotify in Bezug auf Preis und Interface eine Vorbildrolle für Journalismusplattformen einnehmen, diese jedoch ihr Bundle von Inhalten nach anderen Prinzipien generieren und zusammenstellen.... view less

Media platforms hold an increasingly important position in the distribution of media content. However, there is lack of comparative studies on media platforms in different segments of the media industry (video, music, journalism etc.). In light of this research gap, this study investigates seven journalism platforms on the German market and compares their characteristics with Netflix and Spotify. A qualitative analysis of these services was conducted to examine the extent to which Spotify and Netflix are drawn upon as a reference for journalism platforms. Findings show that Netflix and Spotify are role models for journalism platforms in terms of price and interface, but that there are major differences in the bundling of content.... view less
