Be it digitally or in physical protest, far-right ideas and messages have manifested themselves as normalcy within the discourses of the movement. Popular are the Telegram channels Eva Herman Offiziell and Oliver Janich öffentlich. From a Critical Discourse Studies perspective, I investigate whether and to what extent the two actors use strategies to normalize their ideologies for a broad range of audience. Over the period of research from 1st February 2020 to 31st January 2021, I use a structured topic modeling procedure to analyze the channels' thematic focus and associated posts in close reading. With an "alternative" interpretation of information and news, these channels tie in with discourses in society as a whole. Conspiracy narratives and emotionally charged content are key elements of the channels and unite their followers.... view less
