Die vorliegende Studie präsentiert Zwischenergebnisse aus dem Forschungsprojekt TraDiLog, das sich mit den aus der Digitalisierung und Automatisierung von Arbeits- und Wirtschaftsprozessen folgenden Konsequenzen für Mitarbeiter beschäftigt. Das Projekt fokussiert dabei die mobile Erwerbsarbeit in Speditions- und Logistikunternehmen. Interviews mit Vertreter der Branche sowie Akteuren des institutionellen Kontexts zeigen auf, dass sich die untersuchten Tätigkeitsbereiche in den fünf identifizierten Dimensionen Überwachung und Kontrolle, Autonomie, Komplexität, Kommunikation und Zeit durch die Digitalisierung maßgeblich verändern. Dies hat Auswirkungen auf die Work Ability (Arbeits- und Beschäftigungsfähigkeit) der Mitarbeiter: In der momentanen Übergangsphase zur Industrie bzw. Logistik 4.0 können durch zunehmende Automatisierung ein Autonomieverlust auf der einen Seite und gesteigerte Anforderungen an Kompetenz, Qualifikation und Flexibilität auf der anderen Seite beobachtet werden. This paper presents preliminary results of the research project TraDiLog, which addresses digitalization and automatization of the workplace and its consequences on employees. Specializing on mobile work and its transformation, the project focuses on gainful employment in the transport and logistics sector. In a qualitative interview study conducted with representatives of the sector and related institutional branches, we identified five dimensions of work that are greatly impacted by digitalization in the sector, which are: monitoring and control at the workplace, workplace autonomy, complexity of work tasks, communication and working time. Changes in these dimensions further affect the Work Ability of employees: In the current period of transition to "Industry 4.0" or "Logistics 4.0" and its increasing automatization of tasks, we observed a loss of autonomy at the workplace on the one hand, but also rising requirements of job skills, professional qualification and flexibility on the other hand. Regarding work ability, digitalization may therefore create friction between increasing workload and decreasing human resources of the individual employee at the same time.... view less
