An selbstständiger Tätigkeit lassen sich aktuelle Entwicklungen des strukturellen Wandels der Erwerbsarbeit in zugespitzter Form beobachten. Besonders anhand der Gruppe der Solo-Selbstständigen zeigen sich eine starke Selbstökonomisierung und die Schwierigkeit, den Marktbezug der eigenen Tätigkeit zu begrenzen. Vor diesem Hintergrund untersucht der Beitrag aus einer akteurszentrierten Perspektive eben diesen Marktbezug: Am Beispiel der Kulturberufe wird der Frage nachgegangen, wie Kollegialität unter Solo-Selbstständigen erlebt wird und welche Funktion und Bedeutung sie einnimmt. Es zeigt sich, dass Kollegialität und Konkurrenz in einer permanenten und ambivalenten Spannung stehen. Das 'soziale Kapital' in Form von emotionalen und informativen Unterstützungsressourcen innerhalb sozialer Beziehungen bildet damit eine zentrale Ressource selbstständiger Tätigkeit, die jedoch durch Unterbietungs- und Konkurrenzmechanismen ständig bedroht und unterlaufen wird.... view less

My thesis is that research on solo-self-employed work allows us a closer look at recent structural dynamics and transformations in gainful employment. The current developments, which reveal increased self-economization and the lack of opportunities for limiting one’s own market procurement at the same time, can be analyzed particularly on the basis of 'own-account workers' (self-employed without employees). Based on the results of a qualitative analysis this article discusses different forms of referring to markets by the individuals: Applying to cultural professionals I will explain, how solo-self-employed workers experience cooperation and the ambivalence of cooperation and competition. In my paper I hope to show that ‘social capital’ is one of the most important sources for own-account work, but it is at the same time limited and undermined through competition.... view less
