Entre otros elementos, se estudian los factores que favorecen y que dificultan la transición pactada, el tipo de actores que son incluidos o marginados de las negociaciones, los condicionamientos externos, etcétera. This article analyses and compares the characteristics of the negotiation processes, which is the basis of the instauration of democratic regimes. It looks at the factors that contribute to and impede and agreed-upon transition, the type of actors included in or excluded from negotiations, external constraints, and other factors that influence this process. This article takes an especially close look at the Mexican case, where the eventual success of the transition process is still uncertain.... view less
