El presente artículo explora las relaciones entre los conceptos de modernización e identidad nacional, especialmente a la luz del reacomodo de fuerzas sociales y políticas que se dan en México a partir de 1994. This paper explores the relationship between the concepta of modemization and national identity, which are useful in explaining the readjustment of the social and política! forces that has taken place in México since 1994. The main assumptions underlying the argumentative process of this artide are that in the process identity reshaping has taken place; that the notion of national identity has been replaced by new means of identification, and that these new identities are related to autonomous cultural processes, and they tend to be developing into cultural resistance mechanisms related to emerging democratic structures.... view less
