En este artículo, el autor acude al repaso histórico para analizar cómo se fueron dando los procesos de reformas electorales del país en los últimos cuarenta años. Se distinguen claramente, a juicio del autor, tres periodos fundamentales en este sentido: el "proteccionismo ilimitado" (López Mateos-Echeverría); la "oposición restringida" (López Portillo-Salinas de Gortari) y la "reforma electoral definitiva" (Zedillo). This article makes a historical review to analize the way electoral reforms took place in the last forty years. Three periods are clearly distinguished: the "ilimited protectionism" (López Mateors-Echeverría); the "restrained opposition" (López Portillo-Salinas de Gortari) and "definitive electoral reform" (Zedillo).
