Este artículo conceptualiza la violencia después del conflicto, desarrolla su definición, los factores explicativos y construye una tipología de ocho formas de violencia. Una consideración central en este análisis es que existen diferentes niveles de relación entre la violencia de conflicto y la violencia después del conflicto con algunas formas de violencia completamente relacionadas, otras relacionadas sólo parcialmente y otras completamente independientes del conflicto armado. Mientras aspectos generales de condiciones de paz definen la violencia después de conflicto en un sentido débil, legados directos de la guerra definen violencia después del conflicto en un sentido fuerte. This article conceptualizes post-conflict violence by developing its definition, analyzing the factors which can explain it and constructing a typology of eight forms of violence. A central concern of this analysis is that there are different degrees of relation between the violence of conflicts and post-conflict violence given that some forms are fully related, while others are only partially related, and still others are completely independent of armed conflict. While general conditions of peace define post-conflict violence in a weak sense, direct legacies of war define post-conflict violence in a strong sense.
